As a Teaching Assistant, you have the opportunity to serve as a role model for your students. Your work can inspire your pupils and leave a lasting impact on their lives ahead of teacher training.

You must:

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Have a grade C/4 or above in Maths GCSE and English Language GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Hold an undergraduate bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Not have already achieved Qualified Teacher Status

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Evidence of a commitment to working positively with young people
  • Experience of overcoming challenges successfully
  • Ability to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
  • High levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to empathise and think strategically
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
