Jo Young talks changing career to teaching: BBC Cambridgeshire

Jo talks about how she changed career from Egyptologist to English teacher - with the support of Now Teach.

Whilst teaching Jo has been recognised for the outstanding work she does at Jack Hunt School in Peterborough. She has now scooped up a national teaching award after just one year at the Cambridgeshire school. Jo won ‘Outstanding New Teacher of the Year’ Award for her work as an English educator which has been recognised on a national level.

The Bronze prize was given by Pearson’s National Teaching Awards, sponsored by the UK Department for Education. Jo's colleagues had faith in her abilities as it was her mentor Vickie Bracken, Head of Department at Jack Hunt, who nominated her for the award.
