Now Teach
Innovation Fund

Funding action research in your school.

Guiseppe 2020

Now Teach: Innovation Fund is a new scheme designed to help Now Teachers experiment with new ways of working and share that learning back to the Network through funded action research projects carried out in school.

We are particularly interested in research that covers one of the following areas:

  • Literacy and oracy
  • Reducing teacher workload
  • Careers education
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • AI
  • STEM

However, we encourage Now Teachers to apply for projects that are relevant and useful to their school setting.

"We are proud to be able to offer this fund as it enables the network to begin leveraging their skills and experience in school with time and support" Graihagh Crawshaw-Sadler, CEO

Through the pilot fund, Now Teachers can apply for £750 to support action research projects. Initially, we will fund 3 projects in the Summer term of 2024 and hope to readvertise further pots in the next academic year. The funding might provide staff cover, resources or expert advice and guidance to support the project. Now Teachers will also be able to utilise the Now Teach programme team and the wider Network.

The action research conducted will be:

  • focussed on specific challenges in the classroom, department or school
  • solution-focused and tested
  • data and outcomes lead to areas of achievement and future development

"We hope that in the future we will be able to fund more research within our network so that the opportunity for career changers to apply their skills and experience to implement effective interventions in their schools and classrooms becomes commonplace." Sarah Darrall Shaw, Director of Programme & Network

Is there something in your classroom or school you want to improve? Contact Steph Kirton to find out more about the offer. Deadline to apply 11th March.
