“In two years, Now Teach have recruited 122 people and placed them in more than 40 schools to train and develop them.”

Partner with us to help change the face of teaching

We are showing schools, the profession and the world at large that it’s never too late to change career and help young people to maximise their potential.

We work with highly regarded training providers, government, the private sector, professional bodies and schools across the UK to recruit experienced professionals into teaching and maximise the impact of Now Teach on the lives of students and schools in our target regions.

“Having worked with Now Teach candidates first hand I have been impressed with their commitment and calibre. Their different backgrounds and experience are a welcome addition to the classroom and the school as a whole.”

NOW TEACH PARTNER SCHOOLS

Working with schools and training providers is fundamental to our success. We attract and recruit teachers and place them with a school and/or training provider. We provide complementary support and development to accelerate our teachers’ progress and increase their impact in school.

School partners

We partner with schools that see the potential in our teachers and are committed to working with them in the long term.

The schools we partner with directly participate in schools-based initial teacher training. This means our Now Teachers are placed with them between September and July, undertake a second school placement (usually for c.6 weeks after Christmas). The teacher training is a combination of input from school colleagues including a mentor and tutor(s) from the training provider.

We are working with more than 50 schools in London, Hastings, the West Midlands and East Anglia and are always looking for new schools to respond to the needs of our incoming cohort.

Partner schools commit to:

• Letting us know what teachers they need. We try to place at least three in any school

• Hosting school experience for potential trainees, including an interview

• Offering a four-day week (including training release time)

As we expand across the UK we are always looking for new bodies and regional associations to work with. Contact us to find out more:

Now Teach Training Partners

Working with schools and training providers is fundamental to our success. We attract and recruit teachers and place them with a school and/or training provider. We provide complementary support and development to accelerate our teachers’ progress and increase their impact in school.

Training Partners

We partner with a range of school-based and centre-based training providers to ensure high quality teacher training for teachers across our schools and regions.

To date we have placed teachers with three training providers in London & Hastings. From September 2019 we will be working with at least seven. We seek to respond to candidate needs.

We work with all our training partners to try to secure a compressed training route (4 days) though this typically works better with a school-based route.

Training provider partners commit to:

  • Working with us during selection to ensure a smooth journey for Now Teachers
  • Providing high quality school placements within a 45 minute commute
  • Looking at where there can be increased flexibility in the training offer
  • Considering the needs of career changers specifically
  • Facilitating trainee attendance at the four Now Teach cohort sessions

In some cases, Now Teachers secure their training place before finding out about the Now Teach network or have specific placement requirements that means they pursue a training place for themselves. If you are a training provider working with experienced professionals that you think could benefit from the Now Teach support programme, please do get in touch.

Similarly, if you are beginning your teacher training in September 2019 and would like to be part of the Now Teach cohort, please get in touch.
