You’ll spend four days each week in the classroom - starting by observing lessons and gradually taking on responsibility for teaching them yourself. The fifth day is dedicated to theoretical training, workshops, and reflection, all led by experienced teachers.
Nearly 30% of Teach First's secondary trainees are career changers, including Gordon, who trained as a Physics teacher through one of Teach First's delivery partners after a career in investment banking.
Like Gordon, you can train with Teach First and join the Now Teach Network, gaining expert training and the dedicated support you need to make a real difference in the classroom.
When you join Now Teach, you don’t just retrain - you join a community. Our Network connects you with others who’ve taken that step into teaching, helping you stay supported and inspired throughout the journey.
“I’ve always believed the best way to learn is by doing. With the Teach First SCITT, I’m teaching from day one and applying what I’ve learned immediately.”Haleema, career changer and SCITT Maths trainee
When I had a really tough time during training, Now Teach helped me out and gave me the resources to succeed. I don't think I would have made it through without them.Lulu Robertson, Cohort 2021
