Your data
We've recently been in touch about an important change to how Now Teach manages your data. Please take a moment to review this update and let us know whether you'd like to continue hearing about our wider work and future opportunities.
Last updated August 2026

Our work with your cohort year was funded by the Department of Education (DfE), and as our contract with the DfE to deliver the Career Change Programme comes to an end, I’m emailing with a privacy update and asking if we can carry on contacting you about Now Teach’s wider work and new opportunities.
We need your permission to make that happen.
If you’re happy for us to continue, to give us permission, all you need to do is click the link below:
I agree to Now Teach becoming the data controller for my data and to being contacted about their wider work
View our privacy notice here.
Without your permission, we won’t be able to:
- tell you about new Now Teach development opportunities
- ask for your views to help shape our work and research
- invite you to partners’ events
- or ask if you’d like to share your career change story to inspire others.
In short, without permission our contact with you will be much more limited.
What’s changing?
Now Teach would like to take responsibility for your data directly. Becoming both the “data controller” and “data processor”.
This request is required under data protection legislation and reflects a change in how Now Teach manages personal data.
When you first shared your details, it was through the DfE-funded Career Changer Programme. That means:
- the DfE is responsible for your data (the “data controller”), and
- Now Teach handles your data on their behalf (as a “data processor”).
Your permission allows us to stay in touch as our work develops and as new opportunities arise within Now Teach and with partner organisations. You can read our updated privacy notice here.
This does not change any of your existing communication and marketing preferences.
Now Teach will continue to process your personal data for the same purposes as previously, as described in our Privacy Notice. No additional or new uses of your personal data will result from this change and it does not represent a change in any existing marketing and communication preferences.
If you’d like to know more before deciding, please do get in touch sarah.shaw@nowteach.org.uk. If you would like to exercise any of your data protection rights, please contact data.protection@nowteach.org.uk
Next year marks the ten-year anniversary of Now Teach, and we’d love to be able to celebrate with you.
